Opening a new facility in Knigtstown Indiana

Pool company out of Utah lands new office in area.

By Tim Young     BUSINESS EDITOR

KNIGHTSTOWN    -    Pool Cover Specialists has expanded from its Utah headquarters by opening a new office in Knightstown.

Randy Mathis, vice president of operations in the east, said Pool Cover Specialists is the only pool cover manufacturer that has facilities in the east and west. Automatic pool covers are quick and easy to use with the user only having to turn a key to use the cover. It takes less than a minute to cover or uncover a pool.

But perhaps the best feature about an automatic pool cover is the safety benefits from them. Mathis said it is “the only true safety device for a pool.” The pool cover prevents anyone or anything from entering the pool as well as keeping leaves and debris out all year-round. “There's never been anyone drown in a pool with an automatic pool cover,” Mathis said.

Because the cover rests on the water it can sustain the weight of a car that is placed in the middle of the pool. Pool covers are low maintenance and can save owners money on chemicals for the pool and heating costs. Some people can even receive a lower liability rate on homeowners insurance if an automatic pool cover is installed. Installation takes around a few hours.

The Knightstown facility, which is located at 116 W. Morgan St., includes a showroom, cover shop, unit shop, shipping/receiving department and a fully-staffed service and installation department. Mathis said the Knightstown office is an “active training facility for builders and dealers throughout the east.” This means that several business owners will be coming to Knightstown to learn about pool covers and its uses. Pool Cover Specialists currently employees 10 people but may increase up to 20.
